The Covid-19 pandemic has completely changed our reality. However, we know how important persistence is in difficult times and how we can help fight the pandemic. The last months of the fight against the coronavirus have severely affected all people, the economy in Poland and in the world. During this time, it is very important to take appropriate action to minimize the damage caused by the pandemic and to counteract it efficiently. We have witnessed how pacemakers from various industries undertook the fight against the insidious disease in many ways - from sewing protective masks, helping medics, etc.
KMB STEEL PRODUCT ® also actively supported Polish temporary hospitals by supplying stainless sanitary products so that patients suffering from coronavirus could under the best possible conditions to fight a severe disease. The pandemic showed even more how important from a human point of view it is to maintain hygiene and follow simple sanitary rules. Here, the very material of AISI 304 stainless steel, which is currently the most popular type of steel, plays an important role. This steel is characterized by a low carbon concentration and also contains 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel. AISI 304 is a steel resistant to corrosion in most oxidizing acids.
On the other hand, AISI 316 steel, which is also often used in addition to the above-mentioned AISI 304. AISI 316 additionally contains 2 to 3 percent molybdenum and this differs from 304 steel. Molybdenum is an element that largely increases corrosion resistance in unfavorable chemical conditions . The use of stainless products in the medical space is therefore very frequent - from surgical sinks to stainless tables for autopsies.
